Let me start off by saying, I'm a moderate, so I will gladly disagree with either side if I think they are wrong. In this case, the GOP was, and is, wrong. Senator McConnell made a drastic error in judgment, and in doing so, gave the Democrats the rallying cry they needed, and the GOP desperately needed to keep them from getting. And I will say so, and speak out against hypocrisy, if a Democrat did this last year, every Republican would be up in arms, yet, because the GOP is in control of Congress it's somehow okay? No, but some people act as though it is, and all that proves is that for them, and indeed, for most of the Republican Party upper echelons, it was never about "saving the country from Liberals”, or the “American Way”, or fixing any problem in the nation, or even getting America back to work, it was always just about exacting petty vengeance on someone they disagree with, the laws and the country be damned. And in the form of Donald J. Trump, they now have an instrument to attempt to exact their vengeance. But, funnily enough, now that they have the power, both in the White House and the halls of Congress, they seem, as a party, consumed by infighting and petty squabbles. When they could be trying to band together and get the legislation they desperately wanted to be approved, they content themselves with either fighting amongst each other, leaving little time to do anything, or trying to make themselves and the law of the land subservient to the sole will of Donald Trump, a man who has shown he has little or no concern for them, not while he can fight the REAL scourge of the USA, the eeeevvvilllll media, and then rant on Twitter when his grandstanding backfires somehow or someone challenges him in court. Between him and the deformed mess that is now the Republican Party, there is little left to recognize of the Party of Lincoln and Reagan, this seems to be another animal entirely.
But, then again, I’m just a
Rambling Redneck
